Outline Locks
When you open an Essbase outline in edit mode, it becomes locked. While the outline is locked, other users are not allowed to save over, rename, delete, or edit the outline, but they can view it.
The outline becomes unlocked after the user who is editing the outline saves their changes.
If you are a system administrator, you can unlock a locked outline. First, check to make sure that no one else is working with it.
To unlock an outline using the Essbase web interface, refer to Open the Outline in Edit Mode.
To unlock an outline using MaxL, use the alter object statement. For example,
alter object sample.basic.basic of type outline unlock;
