7.3.4 Copying a Page in Page Designer

Copy a page in Page Designer by selecting Copy Page from the Create menu on the Page Designer toolbar.

In Page Designer you can copy the currently selected page or another page in the current application. During the copy process, you can also copy shared components or change mappings to shared components in the target application. The example that follows demonstrates how to copy a page containing an interactive grid.

Tip:

You can also copy a page from the Create Page Wizard by clicking Create Page as Copy. See Creating a New Page by Copying.

To copy a page in Page Designer:

View the page you want to copy in Page Designer:
1. On the Workspace home page, click the App Builder icon.
2. Select an application.
3. Select a page.
Page Designer appears.
On the Page Designer toolbar, click the Create menu and then select Copy Page.

The Copy Page Wizard appears.
Create a page as a copy of - Specify how to copy a page and click Next. Options include:
- Page in this application
- Page in another application
The UI changes slightly depending upon your selection.
If you select Page in this application:
1. Page to Copy:
  - Application - Displays the current application ID.
  - Copy From Page - Select the page you want to copy.
  - New Page Number - Specify a new page number.
  - New Page Name - Enter a new page name.
  - Copy Public Reports - All default reports are copied automatically. Specify whether to copy public reports. Select On or Off.
  - Breadcrumb - Select whether to use a breadcrumb navigation on the new page and the breadcrumb navigation control you want to use.
  - Click Next.
2. Navigation Menu:
  - Navigation Preference - Select how you want this page integrated into the Navigation Menu. To learn more, see field-level Help.
  - Click Next.
3. New Names - Review and update names as needed.
4. Click Copy.
If you select Page in another application:
1. Page to Copy:
  - Copy from Application - Select the application that contains the page you wish to copy.
  - Copy From Page - Select the page you want to copy.
  - Copy to New Page Number - Enter the page number for your new page.
  - New Page Name - Enter a new page name.
  - Copy Public Reports - All default reports are copied automatically. Specify whether to copy public reports. Select On or Off.
  - Breadcrumb - Select whether you to use a breadcrumb navigation on the new page and the breadcrumb navigation control you want to use.
  - Click Next.
2. Navigation Menu:
  - Navigation Preference - Select how you want this page integrated into the Navigation Menu. To learn more, see field-level Help.
  - Click Next.
3. Templates - When you copy a page from another application, all the templates used by that page must be mapped to templates in the current application. This report displays the templates in the page you are copying from.
  - Review the report and map to the correct template.
  - Click Next.
4. Click Finish.
