Unified Rate Plans for Rates and Entitlements

You can now create entitlement plans directly from Fusion Pricing rate plans. During setup, the application uses the charges defined in the selected rate plan to drive entitlement plan configuration, helping align pricing and entitlement definitions while reducing duplicate setup.

This enhancement supports multiple entitlement models, including allowances, estimates, commitments, and volume pricing. Based on the selected entitlement type, the application displays the relevant setup areas and supports unit of measure conversion when the selected rate plan includes usage charges.

The feature also streamlines setup by allowing administrators to use balance profiles that are designated for entitlement plan-driven configuration. After the entitlement plan is activated, the application automatically updates the related balance profile with the applicable charges and balance codes. Entitlement plan assignment is also created automatically, reducing manual steps in the overall setup process.

This capability is available in the Redwood administration experience, and the resulting setups remain visible in existing administration pages. Key setup attributes are also supported through REST services to help customers automate and extend their implementation.

Tips and considerations

  • A rate plan can be associated with only one entitlement plan in this integrated flow
  • Each rate plan and entitlement type combination can be used only once
  • Only eligible balance profiles are available for selection during setup
  • Only charges from the selected rate plan are available for entitlement configuration
  • Only active balance codes are available for selection
  • After a balance profile is designated for entitlement plan-driven setup and activated, that designation can't be removed
