My Internal Control Certification Tasks management

Redwood Platform

My Internal Control Certification Tasks gives assigned certifiers a focused workspace for completing their internal control certification tasks. Internal control certifications help organizations verify that controls and processes are effective, compliant, and adequately mitigate risk. For example, organizations can use this feature to support SOX Section 302 certification activities.

You can open an assigned certification task from My Internal Control Certification Tasks, a Risk Cloud Daily Digest or bell notification. The guided process includes:

  • Introduction: Review campaign-specific instructions and contact campaign owners by email when you need assistance.
  • Certify controls: Review assigned controls, provide an I certify or I do not certify response, and answer the campaign-defined questionnaire. You can select multiple tasks to apply a response or propose a change when applicable.
  • Additional questions: Answer entity level questions when applied.
  • Review and submit: Review responses before submitting the completed certification.

You can save and close the guided process, return to it later, update responses before submission, and view control details in read-only mode. The task list shows the number of assigned and completed controls, helping you track progress.

Business benefit

This feature helps process owners complete internal control certifications more consistently and efficiently, including across multiple assigned controls. It provides a documented response process that helps organizations support certification, risk management, and compliance activities.

Steps to enable and configure

To navigate to this feature:

  1. From the Fusion Applications Newsfeed home page, open Risk Management.
  2. Select Internal Control Certifications module.
  3. In the Internal Control Certifications module, select My Internal Control Certification Tasks in the in-app navigation.
  4. Select a task to open the guided process and complete the internal control certification task.

Tips and considerations

  • You must provide either an I certify or I do not certify response for every assigned task before you can proceed to review and submit the certification.
  • A No questionnaire response is treated as a nonstandard response and requires a follow-up response.
  • You can return to completed guided-process steps, but you can't skip required steps.
  • Task responses are automatically saved as you provide them and can be updated before submission.
  • Adding an attachment is available for one selected task at a time.
  • Reviewer and final reviewer workflows are planned for a future phase.
