Configure and monitor Risk Algorithms
The Algorithms experience provides a common workflow to create, view, edit, schedule, and monitor algorithms. Define logic with conditions and filters, test logic with an assurance summary, choose how results are generated, and review result metrics.
The experience includes algorithm-specific capabilities:
- Access algorithms: Manage access tasks and issues, including the underlying access paths. Access algorithms use graph-based logic to view and edit general conditions and filters.
- Transaction algorithms: Define transaction-monitoring logic with conditions, filters, result grouping, and supported optional condition settings.
- Change-tracking algorithms: Monitor audit changes using a supported goal-driven condition. These algorithms use a single audit business object and fixed result attributes.
With this feature, you can:
- View algorithms and their current status from the Risk Algorithms list.
- Search, filter, sort, and select algorithm records.
- Create custom access, transaction, and change-tracking algorithms.
- Define and update algorithm logic with goal-driven, basic, and advanced conditions and filters.
- View and edit logic in the graph experience, including the business objects, conditions, and filters used by an algorithm.
- Configure result actions, schedules, stakeholders, comments, attachments, categories, and related records.
- Review algorithm overview metrics, including pending and resolved results and current-quarter analysis runs.
- Review assurance-summary information for recent analysis runs and download available export reports.
- Access pending or all generated tasks from the algorithm record.
- Use available actions, based on authorization, to edit, copy, share, request access to, export, view the history of, or purge algorithm-related tasks.
- Configure thresholds to control excessive result volumes. When a task threshold is reached, task generation can change to export-file-only to protect performance until you reset task generation.
Results can be generated as tasks or export files.
Business benefit
A consistent algorithm experience helps organizations configure and manage risk monitoring across access, transaction, and audit-change scenarios. Result thresholds help control data volume while preserving assurance-summary output for investigation.
Steps to enable and configure
For change-tracking algorithms, first enable the required audit business object and attributes in Manage Audit Policies in Setup and Maintenance.
To configure an algorithm:
- From the Newsfeed home page, open Risk Management.
- Select Algorithms.
- Create or edit an algorithm.
- Define the applicable logic, conditions, and filters.
- Configure result actions, scheduling, and stakeholders as needed.
Tips and considerations
- Logic changes can affect existing tasks. Review the warning before publishing logic changes.
- If a run reaches a threshold, review the assurance summary and adjust filters, logic, or historical task data before resetting task generation.
- Change-tracking algorithms require a supported goal-driven condition and use a single audit business object.

Access requirements
Access to algorithms is controlled through Stakeholders. Users can view only algorithms for which they have explicit authorization. When the All Employees participant group is assigned, users can view the algorithms in the list. Additional actions, including edit and copy, depend on the user’s authorization and applicable privileges.
