Integrate Launch PDC with Batch Rating and Real time Rating Engine
You can now additionally integrate the Launch application with Oracle Billing Revenue Management via Pricing Design Center that works with the Batch Rating Engine and Real time Rating Engine. You can use this integration to publish the modeling constructs highlighted in the Launch Integration guide to equivalent PDC constructs of a charge offer, discount offer, deal and package: The existing PDC integration working with elastic charging engine as the rating engine will be the default engine configuration with the Launch BRM integration. To use this new integration you need to raise a service request to set the rating engine profile in Launch.
The following tasks needs to be followed after the rating engine setup :
- Configure the setup entities on PDC/BRM.
- Ensure that the services, usage events and service-event maps, unit of measure, general ledger IDs (GLIDs), tax codes, balance elements, and other optional entities like standard zones, price tags, impact categories, policy specifications, time model, provisioning tag etc required for charge or discount offers are configured. Use the PDC documentation to set up these entities in PDC and the Launch API documentation to set them up in Launch. Use the Launch integration guide for more details. The usage events with the keyword delayed will be configured to work with Batch Rating engine and all others will work with real time rating engine.
- Create the same configurations in Launch.
- Create atomic offers, service bundles and packages.
- Publish the initiative to PDC.
The integration works similar to the earlier integration of PDC with Elastic Charging Engine.
The business benefit of this feature is that it allows mastering the Catalog definitions entities in the Launch application and publishing these to Oracle Billing Revenue Management Pricing Design Center and working with the Batch Rating engine or real time rating engine.
Steps to enable and configure
Requires integration with Oracle PDC/BRM 15.2. For more information, see Launch Integration Guide (Setup task list section ) in Integrate with PDC/BRM . Raise a service request to setup the rating engine as non ECE rating engine in Launch.
