Types of Saved Searches Available for Alerts
Email alerts are not available for all types of saved searches, for record types with more frequently changing, time-sensitive data. The following types of saved searches support email alerts:

Item

Project (if you enable Project Management)

Phone Call

Vendor
Note:
Alerts are sent when a new record of the selected type is created or an existing record of the selected type is edited directly. Alerts are not sent when records are changed as a side effect of other record types being created or edited.
