Templates and Areas
Templates control how your website pages are structured. Templates contain HTML markup and placeholders for data and scripts. Site Management Tools (SMT) uses areas defined in the templates to determine where you can add and manage content on a page. This lets you quickly add content and create different page layouts without having to build custom templates. However, if the default page layouts do not fully meet your needs, you can customize the modules to create your own areas or change the existing ones. For example, you may want to change an area’s scope to Page Type or add a new All Pages area across all shopping pages.
