NetSuite Version Upgrade FAQ
As you prepare for your NetSuite version upgrade, the following questions and answers will help you to get ready.
What should I do to prepare for my NetSuite upgrade?
Check the New Release Portal on your Home page to verify your NetSuite version upgrade date.
The New Release portlet is located on the home page of your production account. If you do not see the portlet, click Personalize on your home page and on the Standard Content tab, select New Release.
Request a Release Preview account and test your critical business processes in the new NetSuite version before your production account is upgraded. If you encounter any issues, report them to NetSuite Customer Support.

How does Customer-Scheduled Maintenance work?
You'll schedule and reschedule your NetSuite upgrade using Customer-Scheduled Maintenance.

When will my sandbox be upgraded?
Your sandbox account will be upgraded within 7 days after your production account is upgraded. You'll receive a separate notification related to your sandbox upgrade schedule.
You can change your sandbox upgrade dates from the Customer-Scheduled Maintenance page in your production account.
Can I use Customer-Scheduled Maintenance to reschedule my NetSuite upgrade?
Yes, regardless of your service tier, you can use Customer-Scheduled Maintenance to reschedule your upgrade. Your administrator will get a notification after your rescheduled upgrade is confirmed.
Whom should I contact if I want an upgrade date and time that is not available in Customer-Scheduled Maintenance?
Contact NetSuite Customer Support before the scheduled maintenance (between 72-24 hours, depending on the maintenance type) and provide a justification for your request.

Who will be notified of the date and time for our NetSuite upgrade?
Automated email notifications and in-account notifications are sent to the account administrators.
If I reschedule my upgrade, is the new date and time guaranteed?
If you reschedule your upgrade using the Customer-Scheduled Maintenance page, administrators receive a confirmation email and NetSuite will upgrade your account at the new date and time. In rare cases, NetSuite may need to reschedule your upgrade, but account administrators will be notified and can reschedule the upgrade if needed.
How long will the NetSuite upgrade take?
Four hours are reserved for the NetSuite upgrade maintenance, but many upgrades are completed much faster (within 60 minutes).
How will I know when my NetSuite upgrade has completed?
After your account is upgraded to the latest NetSuite version, account administrators will receive an email notification.
What does it mean if my maintenance has been rolled back?
If your maintenance is rolled back, it means not all tasks were finished, so everything was reversed and your account is back to how it was before. No data is lost. You can keep using your account, and the maintenance will be rescheduled. All administrators will be notified about the rollback and when it’s rescheduled.
