FAM Diagnostics Portlet
The FAM Diagnostics portlet gives you an overview of your FAM bundle's health from the dashboard. It shows processes that need action, how to fix them, when they were last resolved, and who made the changes. You can also scan processes to check for issues that need fixing. The following processes are available in FAM Diagnostics:
-
Precompute Depreciation Values - This process generates depreciation schedule values to optimize depreciation. Depreciation values are automatically generated for assets created from an asset proposal, but not for assets created manually or through CSV import.
-
Reset Asset Values - Changes to the asset that affect the depreciation formula, such as changes to the asset life or cost, causes inaccuracies in the depreciation values. Run Asset Reset to delete outdated depreciation histories.
-
Check Missing Summaries - A BG Summary record tracks depreciation histories with the same subsidiary, department, class, location, and currency. Depreciation won't proceed if the depreciation histories are missing a BG Summary record.
-
Check Missing Asset Values Record - Depreciation values won't be generated for assets without an Asset Values record. This can happen in the following cases:
-
Assets are added through CSV import when server scripts aren't running.
-
Assets are modified to remove the associated Asset Values record.
-
The Asset Values record is deleted.
-
-
Check Missing Lease Contracts - Lease payments may have missing contracts if they're added through CSV import when server scripts aren't running.
-
Check Missing DHRs without Associated Records - Depreciation history records (DHRs) that aren't linked to an Asset or Asset Values record can cause issues during depreciation. DHRs may be orphaned in these scenarios:
-
Users manually delete the Asset or Asset Values record.
-
The DHR is modified outside of FAM transactions.
-
-
Check Duplicate DHRs - Duplicate DHRs may occur when prior forecast DHRs aren't cleared before new forecast DHRs are generated. This can happen when some FAM processes fail to delete the old forecast values, resulting in duplicate depreciation amounts. This check identifies duplicate DHRs without journal entries for review and deletion.
-
Check Stale DHRs - Stale DHRs may occur when forecast DHRs are generated but the related Asset Value records aren't updated properly. These DHRs no longer reflect the related Asset Value record or current depreciation date. This check identifies stale DHRs without journal entries for review and deletion. A DHR is considered stale in the following scenarios:
-
The DHR date is later than the Asset Value Last Forecast Date
-
The Asset Value has no Last Forecast Date
-
The DHR is associated with a BG Summary that has a journal entry and its date is later than the Asset Value Last Depreciation Date.

FAM Diagnostics is available to the Administrator and Fixed Assets Manager roles by default. Other roles need the FAM Recent Diagnosis permission to view the FAM Diagnostics portlet. For more information, see Form Permissions for Fixed Assets Management.
