SuiteBilling Subscription Revisions
When you create, edit, or void a subscription change order, a subscription revision with the individual contract modifications and the associated revenue impacts is generated. Saving a change order stores all changes associated in the subscription revision.
Subscription revisions keep a record of all changes made to the subscription. You can track to a specific change order changes to contracts and revenue that are made after activation. You can also monitor changes to values thoughout the whole contract term. For fundamental information about subscription changes orders, see SuiteBilling Change Orders.
You can't delete a change order, but you can void it instead. Although voided change orders are still visible, they don't impact charge amounts, so you can track the revenue changes even after change orders is removed. For instructions, see Voiding a Change Order.
Viewing Subscription Revisions
Subscription revisions are on the Subscription Line record and the Subscription Change Order record.
For fundamental information about change orders, see SuiteBilling Change Orders.
To view a subscription revision:
-

-
On the Subscription Line record > Revisions subtab > Subscription Revision column
-
On the Subscription Change Order record > Lines subtab > Subscription Line Revisions column:
For subscriptions activated before NetSuite version 20.1, editing or deleting them doesn't create new subscription revisions. New subscription revisions for a subscription that was activated before version 20.1 are created only when you next save a subscription change order.

-
Discount – Applied discount.
-
Price Plan – Associated price plan.
-
Revenue Element – For a Usage or Committed line, the revision includes a link to the Revenue Element that resulted from a specific modification. For One-Time, Recurring, and Overage lines, the revision includes links to Revenue Elements from specific modifications.

-

Revisions and Revenue Impact For Evergreen Subscriptions
Updating the Estimated Revenue Recognition End Date of an Evergreen subscription increments the revision of Activate change order lines without a closed date or termination date.
The Estimated Revenue Recognition End Date field has these restrictions and behaviors:
-
When active evergreen subscriptions with non-voided Activate change orders and no termination or close date, the Estimated Revenue Recognition End Date can't be cleared or set to a date before the current date or the subscription start date.
-
If all subscription lines are in the Draft or Pending Activation status, or a have a non-voided Terminate change order, the Estimated Revenue Recognition End Date can be updated or cleared.
-
Updating the Estimated Revenue Recognition End Date doesn't change the end dates of terminated or one-time subscription lines.
-
If a line is activated, such as from voiding a Terminate change order, and the Estimated Revenue Recognition End Date is empty or before today's date, the system sets Estimated Revenue Recognition End Date to the first date after today from the following options:
-
Subscription start date +3 years
-
Activate or Void termination change order effective date +3 years
-
Current date +3 years (guaranteed to be after current date)
For example, if today's date is 1/1/2023, and the Subscription Start Date is 1/1/2016:
The first option isn't used because its resulting date is 12/31/2019, which is before today's date.
The second option is used only if the void termination date is after 1/1/2020, resulting in a date that's the same as or after today's date.
If the first two options don't apply, the third option is used. The third option results in an end date of 12/31/2026.
