Configuring Outsourced Manufacturing
After Outsourced Manufacturing is enabled, you must define an outsourcing location for the vendor who will outsource manufacturing for you.
To define an outsourced manufacturing location:

Go to Lists > Relationships > Vendors.
Important:You must have locations defined before you can configure your outsourced manufacturing location. For more information, see Creating Locations.

On the Vendors page, click Edit next to the vender who will outsource manufacturing for you.

Click the Outsourced Manufacturing subtab.

Beside the Manufacturing Locations field, click the arrow icon.

In the Choose Manufacturing Location list, select the location or locations, for the outsourcing vendor.
Note:Each location can be used by one vendor, but a vendor can use multiple locations.

Click Done.

Click Save.
Configuring Outsourced Assembly Bins for Locations
To setup outsourced assembly for locations:

Go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences.

Click the Items/Transactions subtab.

Check the Use Preferred Bin on Item Receipts box.

Click Save.

Create a new Locations for each bin.

Create an Outsourced Vendor.
Add your new locations to this vendor.

Create an Outsourcing Charge Item.

Create an Inventory Item.

On the Purchasing/Inventory subtab, check the Use Bins box.

Click Save.

Create an Assembly Item.

On the Purchasing/Inventory subtab, check the Use Bins box.

In the Bin Numbers section, select a Location.

Add the new Bin Number.

Click Save.

Create a Bill of Materials (BOM).

Assign the BOM to the assembly item.

To ensure a bin is available on the Item Receipt Component line, adjust inventory for the new inventory item.
