Restoring Field Service Center Categories and Links
After updating the Field Service Management (FSM) SuiteApp, it’s important to review your customizations to make sure you still have access to Scheduler and Mobile features. Depending on how your NetSuite Center is set up, you might need to restore or adjust some links and audience settings.
See the following topics.
Supported NetSuite Centers
If you use a supported NetSuite Center and you've customized the audience, category names, or link labels for the Field Service tab, those changes reset after a bundle update.
To add the audience again:
-
Go to Customization > Centers and Tabs > Center Tabs.
-
Under the Name column, find the Field Service tab for the appropriate center type, then click Edit.
-
In the Audience subtab, select the appropriate role or roles under the Roles field.
-
Click Save.
To reset a category name:
-
Go to Customization > Centers and Tabs > Center Tabs.
-
Under the Name column, find the Field Service tab for the appropriate center type, then click Edit.
-
In the Content subtab, under Categories, re-enter the name of the appropriate category in the Name column, then click OK.
-
Click Save.
To reset a link label:
-
Go to Customization > Centers and Tabs > Center Categories.
-
Under the Label column, find the appropriate category, then click Edit.
-
In the Values subtab, re-enter the Label for the appropriate link.
-
Click Save.
Unsupported NetSuite Centers
If you're using a NetSuite Center that's not supported, you might lose Mobile and Scheduler category links after an update.
To restore links to the Mobile and Scheduler:
-
Go to Customization > Centers and Tabs > Center Categories.
-
Under the Label column, find the category for the Mobile or Scheduler under your Field Service tab, then click Edit.
-
Under the Values subtab, update the link and label as follows:
Category
Link
Label
Scheduler
Field Service Scheduler Suitelet
Run
Mobile
Field Service Mobile Suitelet

-
Click Save.
-
Repeat steps 2-4, make sure you restore both Mobile and Scheduler links.
Best Practices After FSM Updates
Here are some best practices to help you keep access to FSM features and avoid issues after a bundle update.
Use the Classic Interface
If you lose access to the Field Service tab after an update, switch to the Classic Interface to get it back.
Some roles, such as the Administrator role, use the Classic Center by default and the Use Classic Interface box is not available. The box is available in all custom roles not using the Classic Interface by default.
To switch to the Classic Interface:
-
Go to Home > Set Preferences.
-
On the Appearance subtab, under Centers & Dashboards, check the Use Classic Interface box.
-
Click Save.
Create a Custom Center Tab and Add Custom Links
A custom center tab keeps its audience, categories, and links after a bundle update.
For example, to make sure you keep access to the Mobile or Scheduler, you can add them as custom links on a custom center tab.
To do this, perform the following steps in order:
Step |
Procedure |

1. Create a custom center tab for Field Service. |
See Creating Center Tabs.
Tip:
Be sure to use a unique, simple to recall label for your custom center tab. |
