Location Options in WFM
There are a wide variety of options that need to be considered when editing a Location. Each aspect of a Location plays an important part of the weekly shifts.
To access a Location for editing go to Setup > Locations. Then simply select the location you want to edit.
When you have selected the Location you want to edit, you will then be shown a list of different options as listed below:

To comply with the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), devices in Illinois locations may not be used to capture biometric data through fingerprint scanning.
When you change a location previously set outside of Illinois to within it, an error message may appear with a list of devices that use biometric data to authenticate.
To continue changing the device location, click each of the device links and go through the device wizard. On the Authenticate by field, select PIN only as the authentication method.

Scheduling
Schedule days and times
Choose the day your schedule starts on. For example, select Wednesday if your schedule week is from Wednesday -Tuesday.
Shift interval -the interval at which your shifts are scheduled. Most commonly 30 minutes -if you schedule employees on at quarter to or past, select 15 minutes.
Daily start and finish time -the earliest and latest someone would be scheduled on
Show shift finish times -if this is ticked, the finish time of shifts will appear on printed schedules.
Clear this if you only want employees to see that they are needed until required.
You can automatically apply breaks to shifts if they are longer than a certain period of time. You will set this to your award conditions, as well as how long that break should be. Please note: you can still edit this while creating a shift.
Display breaks on printed reports -if employees do not have allocated breaks and they take breaks when it is not busy, clear this option. This break will be taken into account even though it does not show.
Default stats
If you have a POS integration setup for importing of sales data, you can change when we fetch this data from by default instead of changing it week on week. You can also apply an index.
KPI Targets
Setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for a roster unit helps management keep a record of important information. The two main types of KPI are:
-
Sales Related Targets
-
Absolute Targets (Per-Week)
Sales related targets
A useful sales-related KPI is the "Labour Percentage", which sets allows you to set a percentage goal for how much money is used for wages compared to the profits. This can be either a daily or weekly goal.
Another helpful KPI is setting the productivity goal, which will show how many units are sold per hour. An example of the productivity KPI could be from an electronic store, where the goal could be 3 units per hour for each employee; the goal is reached if, from ten employees in one hour they sell within 10% of 30 units.
Absolute targets
Absolute targets are limitation goals for a week's shifts.
"Costs" is used to set a goal for how much is spent on wages.
"Hours" is a goal for how many hours across all employees, is worked.
These two goals are achieved if the result is less than or equal to the target.
Modifiers
You can add things such as super and on costs.
Multiplier
You are able to optionally apply any required costs as a percentage multiplier against the total weekly schedule. You can also apply effective from dates and apply the modifiers against an Employment Status.
An example of a multiplier could be is Superannuation.
Fixed Costs
You are able to optionally apply any required fixed costs against the total weekly schedule. You can also apply effective from dates and apply the modifiers against an Employment Status.
An example of a fixed cost could be Work Cover.
Approvals
Availability
You can select which managers can be approvers for availability requests at each location. The manager will receive availability requests from employees that have that location as their primary location.
Leave
You can select which person/s can be approvers for leave requests at each location. They will receive leave requests from employees that have that location as their primary location.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This setting does not prevent the manager from adding an approved leave event for employees that they ‘manage’ this is defined by any roster unit/location that the manager is available to be rostered at.
By setting this, a warning message will appear when you try to approve a shift of more than the hours set here.
