Trial Balance Templates and Customization
The trial balance is a combination of the balance sheet and income statement. This means, the trial balance uses two templates: a balance sheet template and income statement template. Customizing either of these templates will directly affect the trial balance you will generate.
If you customize the templates for the non-comparative income statement and balance sheet using the Financial Report Builder, ensure that the order of account rows in your custom templates is the same as that in the standard sample templates of those two reports included in the bundle. If there are critical differences in the order of accounts in those two templates, you may encounter an error in your custom trial balance template.
