Viewing CAC Trends

The CAC Trend portlet gives you a clear, actionable view of how your customer acquisition costs change over time.

This graph brings together key metrics: CAC and new customers into a single, interactive dashboard for analysis.

CAC Trend Graph Key Components

The CAC trend graph includes the following key components:

  • Data sources - Subscriptions, contracts, and billing data from NetSuite.

  • Visualization - Trend graphs for CAC and a bar chart for new customers per period.

  • Filters - Metric (ARR, MRR, CARR, and CMRR ), customer, item, department, class, and location.

  • Reporting periods - Select start and end periods, and choose to view data by month, quarter, or year.

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

Total sales and marketing spend divided by the number of new customers. Shows how much it costs to gain each customer

 

 

New Customers per Period

Number of new customers acquired in each selected period. Helps you track growth alongside your spending.

To view the CAC trend graph:

  1. Go to Subscription Metrics > Unit Economics > View.

  2. From the Metric filter, select a metric.

  3. (Optional) Apply filters to refine your results.

  4. Select the reporting period (month, quarter, or year).

  5. Set the start and end dates for your analysis.

  6. Review the trend line and bar charts for key insights.

Use these insights to monitor spending, track growth, and refine your acquisition strategies.
