SuiteTax
The topics in this section are for NetSuite accounts where the SuiteTax feature's enabled. If you don't have SuiteTax, see Legacy Tax
SuiteTax gives you more flexibility to support specific country needs and changing tax laws for calculation and reporting. For example, SuiteTax helps you manage in-country transactions (sales tax, VAT or GST) and lots of special tax rules, such as intra-EU transactions, 3PL, reverse charges, and others. SuiteTax also lets you use different tax calculation engines for nexuses and override tax details on transactions.
The SuiteTax API uses internal or external tax engines to calculate taxes for transactions in NetSuite. A tax engine represents an implementation of the SuiteTax plug-in feature, which defines how the tax engine calculates taxes on a transaction. Contact your NetSuite account manager to learn more about tax engine implementations.
