Analyzing Trends in the OpEx by Dept Dashboard
The OpEx by Dept Dashboard shows OpEx trends by Department for the selected Account and shows the year-over-year (YoY) variances by Department. You can use this dashboard to analyze OpEx trends and YoY growth variances by Department for the selected Account. You can view the trends as an amount or percentage of total expense. The subforms also include the option to drill into specific Departments for the selected Account.
This section includes general instructions on how to use the following interactive subforms in the OpEx by Dept Dashboard:

OpEx by Department Trend – Displays the trended historical to projected operating expense by Department for the selected Account. You can see values as an amount or percentage of total expenses. The subform includes the option to drill into specific Departments for the selected Account.

OpEx by Department: YoY Variance – Displays the percentage variances between the current and previous year by month's, year-to-date, full-year, and next year variances by Department. The subform includes the option to drill into specific Departments for the selected Account.
To analyze the operating expense trends:
You can maximize and refresh each trend graph individually by clicking the Maximize icon 
and Refresh icon in each subform 
, respectively.

From the Home page, Click the OpEx card.

To go to OpEx Dashboards, click the 2 tab on the left-hand side.

Click OpEx by Dept Dashboard.

In the Point of View (POV), select a Version, Subsidiary, Currency, and Account.
If you use Dashboards 1.0, click the Go icon
to apply the changes to the POV. -
To review the operating expense trend by Department for an Account:

From the dropdown list in the OpEx by Department Trend subform, select one of the following options:

To see the graph by value, select Amount.

To see the graph by percentage of the total expenses, select % of Total Expenses.

If you use Dashboards 1.0, click the Go icon
in the OpEx by Department Trend subform to apply the changes. -
(Optional) Click on a line in the graph or click the Department name in the legend to drill into the department's operating expense. Drilling shows the operating expenses at the individual Account level.

To review the YoY variance percentage by Department:

Hover over a series bar in the OpEx by Department: YoY Variance graph to see the series name and variance percentage.

(Optional) Click a bar in the graph to see detailed data of the Department's operating expense in relation to the Account selected. Alternatively, you can click the Department name in the legend.
