Using the Intelligent Close Manager Dashboard Portlet

The Intelligent Close Manager portlet on your Home page provides a centralized view of tasks, estimated impacts, and AI-driven exceptions, including incorrect amounts and projected activity. The portlet helps you monitor close progress and complete daily tasks.

To use the portlet, you must enable the Intelligent Close Manager feature and have the Manage Accounting Periods permission at the View or Full level.

Data in the portlet refreshes every hour. The timestamp in the portlet indicates the last time there was a data refresh.

Filter the portlet by period and subsidiary to view KPIs, tasks, and amounts for specific subsidiaries and accounting periods:

After you change the Period or Subsidiary filters, click Update for the portlet data to reflect your selection.

You can also lock transaction types and periods from the Intelligent Close Manager by clicking the Manage lock periods icon.

To add the portlet to your Home page:

  1. Go to your Home page.

  2. Click the Personalize link in the upper-right corner of your dashboard, or use the Personalize Dashboard link in the Settings portlet.

  3. On the Standard Content tab, click Close Manager. The Intelligent Close Manager portlet will be added to your Home page. You can drag the portlet to the location you'd like it to appear on your Home page.

For more information about customizing portlets, see Dashboard Portlets.

Review Tasks by Priority

Use the Priority Queue tab to view and prioritize close tasks. The tab shows the priority, task name, estimated impact, due date, number of tasks to complete, and status. Click the number in the Tasks column to open the task page.

The Due Date and Status columns are populated only when the portlet is filtered to the first open accounting period. When the portlet is filtered to the first open accounting period, task names in the Priority Queue include links to close manager task records. Use close manager task records to assign tasks, set due dates, and update task status. For more information, see Viewing and Editing Close Manager Task Records.

Select one of the following options when sorting tasks by priority:

  • Default view - Prioritizes tasks in the standard workflow order.

  • AI Prioritized - Prioritizes tasks automatically based on factors such as transaction amount, business impact, and due date.

You can also search and sort by prioritized tasks.

The AI Prioritized option is available only when the Enable Narrative Insights preference is enabled on the AI Preferences page. For more information, see Managing Narrative Insights Preferences.
