Reports for Commerce Website Traffic
You can analyze and report on your Commerce website traffic with several different features and services. Reports provide data that show the number of visitors to your site, specific pages visited, conversion rates, and revenue generated.
You can also gain more understanding about shopper behavior with reports. For example, SuiteCommerce Analytics Data can show the top items viewed by shoppers, the top keyword searches for specific shoppers, and more.
Review the following sections to learn more about the available options for tracking and reporting Commerce website traffic:
-
Google Analytics 4 (with Google Tag Manager Commerce Extension)
-
Google Analytics 4 (without Google Tag Manager Commerce Extension)
-
Google Universal Analytics (without Google Tag Manager Commerce Extension)
To gain understanding about the performance of your Commerce website, see Application Performance Management (APM) for Commerce and Site Performance.
SuiteCommerce Analytics Data
SuiteCommerce Analytics Data feature uses cookies to capture detailed information about shopper behavior during visits to your Commerce website. This feature must be enabled in your NetSuite account. It comes with a companion extension to set up a banner and menu to obtain each shopper’s consent to have their data collected.
You can use the collected data to report on use cases like these:
-
Shoppers who have not visited your website within a specified timeframe.
-
Other items viewed by shoppers who purchased a particular item.
-
Items a particular shopper viewed within a specified timeframe.
-
Shoppers who added items to their cart but did not make a purchase.
The SuiteCommerce Analytics Data feature requires the following application versions:
-
NetSuite 2021.2 or later
-
SuiteCommerce 2021.2 or later
-
SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA) 2021.2 or later
If you have the required versions installed, see the following topics to learn how to get started with SuiteCommerce Analytics Data:
Google Analytics 4 (with Google Tag Manager Commerce Extension)
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) has replaced Google Universal Analytics (GAU) as Google’s cross-platform Analytics solution. All standard GUA properties stopped processing new hits on July 1, 2023. 360 Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits on July 1, 2024. See Migrating from Google Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 with GTM for information about migrating from GUA to GA4.
Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a free application provided by Google that lets you manage all your tags in one place. Tags can perform functions such as:
-
Measure site traffic.
-
Measure visitor behavior.
-
Provide information about the impact of online advertising and marketing campaigns.
SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA) customers must implement the Mont Blanc version or later to use this feature.
For SuiteCommerce and SCA 2018.2 and later, you need to install the SuiteCommerce GTM as part of your GTM set up.
To get started with GTM and Analytics, see:

Google Analytics 4 (without Google Tag Manager Commerce Extension)
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is a third-party analytics solution that helps you evaluate traffic on your website using data based on visitor tracking information.
Do not implement GA4 if you use GA4 with Google Tag Manager (GTM). Doing so causes duplicate tracking results. See Google Tag Manager for information about GTM.
GA4 can be implemented for the following types of Commerce websites:

Site Builder Reports
Site Builder is a legacy Commerce solution provided by NetSuite. Site Builder provides the following reports, some of which are also available for SuiteCommerce and SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA) websites.
While some Site Builder reports are also available for SuiteCommerce and SCA websites, more robust reporting options are now available for current versions of these Commerce solutions. You should use reporting tools, like SuiteCommerce Analytics Data, to analyze traffic for your SuiteCommerce or SCA site.
