Managing Customers and Assets

Service data are customers, contacts, and field service assets. These records identify who receives service, where it happens, and what equipment is serviced.

The customer identifies the party that receives the service. The Field Service Asset identifies the object that receives the service. For example, the asset can be a site, machine, component, or other customer-owned serviceable object.

It is important keep customer and asset records updated to reflect changes to the customer's service site, ownership, billing, or contact information. Before modifying a customer or asset record, review open tasks, scheduled work, and any in-progress mobile jobs that use it.
