Files Tab
The Files tab allows the user to attach files from their mobile device to the selected task.
This tab contains three screens. One is known as the Add File Item screen, the next as the Edit/Delete File Item screen and the last as the File Item List screen.

Add File Item screen in detail
This screen allows the user to add file items to be attached to the selected task.

If there are already one or more saved files for this task, then the File Item List screen is displayed. If there are no saved notes for this task, then this button has no effect. |

To inform the user that the file item is being saved to the cloud. |

Discard Changes button |
To allow the user to clear any changes that have been made within the Add/Edit File screen. |
Shows the alert below. If the user presses OK on the alert, then Field Service Mobile reverts the contents of all data entry fields back to the previous default values. If the user presses Cancel on alert, then the alert is hidden, and no changes are made. |
Once changes are made to any of the data entry items within the screen. |
Shows the alert “Are you sure you want to discard your changes? OK. Cancel”. |

Save button |
To allow the user to save any changes that have been made within the Add File Item screen. |
Saves all the data entered within the Add File Item screen then displays the Edit/View File Item screen with all of the fields filled with that data for the newly added file item. |
Once both the File autoload text field and the Description text box contain valid values. |

Upload Autoload text field |
To allow the user to select a file to be uploaded to the cloud and be attached to the selected task. It functions as a button so that, when the user presses anywhere within the field, Field Service Mobile opens the mobile device’s default file selection tool. Once a file has been selected the field displays the filename of the selected file. |

Edit/Delete File Item screen in detail
This screen allows the user to edit or delete files that are currently attached to the selected task.

Deletes the current file and associated data from the cloud. If the file being deleted is the only file saved for the selected task, then the Add File Item screen is displayed. Otherwise the File Item List screen is shown. |

If data has been saved previously for the current file item, then all values revert to their previous values when the file item was last saved. If the user presses Cancel on alert, then the alert is hidden, and no changes are made. |

To allow the user to save any changes that have been made within the Edit/Delete File Item screen. |

Allows the user to download/view a file that has been previously saved to the cloud. |
The file will be launched into a new browser tab. Depending on the operating system of the mobile device being used the file, and depending on the file type, this file will either display in the new tab or be saved into the device’s permanent storage so that another app may be able to display the file. |

File Size text display field |
To show the user the file size, measured in kilobytes, of the stored file. |
