Creating a Phase, Task, or Milestone in Outline or Gantt View

To create a phase, task, or milestone in the Outline or Gantt view:

1. Do one of the following:

   • If there is at least one phase, task, or milestone in the Outline or Gantt view, click the more actions icon on a phase, task, or milestone row, then click an option to create a phase, task, or milestone above or below that row.

     Note:

     This method lets you create a phase, task, or milestone without leaving the Outline or Gantt view. You can also use this method to duplicate a phase, task, or milestone, or to move or copy it to another project.

     

   • Otherwise, click the Create button, then click Phase, Task, or Milestone under Task/Phase.

     Note:

     This method opens a form and navigates you away from the Outline or Gantt view. To create create a phase, task, or milestone without leaving the Outline or Gantt view, use the previous method.
