Saving and Refreshing Insights
You can save the Excel sheet, Word document, or PowerPoint slide in which you have inserted insights as chart or function, and refresh the insights to get the latest data.
For example, if you change a percentage value in the insight statement, you can refresh the insight to retrieve the original value.
Note:
It may happen that an insight no longer exists or it has been deleted by the service administrator. In Oracle Smart View for Office, currently when you refresh insights, Smart View continues to display deleted insights, even after refreshing. A workaround is to check the IPM Insights dashboard in your web application and then delete such insights from your sheet, document, or slide. To refresh insights:
- Open the saved Excel sheet, Word document, or PowerPoint slide containing insights or insight functions.
- Connect to your data source from Smart View.
- From the Smart View ribbon, click
Refresh.
The insights are refreshed in the following way:
- Excel: The active sheet is refreshed. If you have multiple sheets with insights, then click Refresh All Worksheets to refresh insights in all sheets at the same time.
- Word:: The charts in the document are refreshed.
- PowerPoint: The active slide is refreshed. To refresh insights on other slides, open each slide and click Refresh.
