Schedule Downtime for Trading Partners

You can schedule downtime for a trading partner because of expected maintenance or some other reason. During the scheduled downtime, the trading partner cannot process messages. Messages are stored in a pending transmission state in Oracle Integration and resume processing only when the scheduled downtime expires.

Capabilities

  • Scheduled downtime for trading partners is supported in both projects and in standalone mode.
  • Outbound messages sent during the scheduled downtime are stored in a pending transmission state.
  • When the scheduled downtime expires, all stored message are sent to the trading partner and the expired schedule is removed.
  • Trading partner downtime is only applicable for outbound messages. For inbound messages, trading partner downtime is ignored and messages are processed as usual.

Schedule Trading Partner Downtime

A user with the ServiceAdministrator or ServiceDeveloper role can schedule trading partner downtime.

  1. To schedule downtime for a trading partner in a project.
    1. In the navigation pane, click Projects.
    2. Click the project in which to find the trading partner.
    3. Click B2B B2B icon.
    4. In the Trading partners section, hover over the row.
    5. Click Actions Actions icon, then Schedule downtime.

      The Schedule downtime panel is displayed.

  2. To schedule downtime for a trading partner in a standalone environment.
    1. In the navigation pane, click B2B, then Trading partners.
    2. Hover over the row of the trading partner.
    3. Click Actions Actions icon, then Schedule downtime.

      The Schedule downtime panel is displayed.

  3. Use the Calendar Scheduled integration icon to specify the start date and end date for the downtime. The minimum downtime is five minutes and the maximum downtime is seven days.
  4. Select the time zone, then click Add.

    The Downtime - scheduled label appears next to the trading partner name. When the start date is reached, messages can no longer be delivered to the trading partner.

Filter Messages in the Pending Transmission State at Runtime

When tracking B2B messages on the Wire messages and Business messages tabs at runtime, you can filter on messages currently in the pending transmission state due to trading partner downtime.

  1. Select Filter Filter icon.
  2. From the Status list, select Pending transmission TPDown.

Perform Scheduled Downtime Management Tasks

Once you schedule downtime for a trading partner, you can perform other management tasks. Hover over the row of the trading partner and select the task to perform.

To ... Then ...
Edit scheduled downtime Select Actions Actions icon, then Edit downtime.
View scheduled downtime Select Actions Actions icon, then View downtime.
Remove scheduled downtime Select Actions Actions icon, then Remove downtime.
