Cloudera Data Platform Support

This release supports Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) running Cloudera runtime 7 and above. Usage and installation needed to support CDP is transparent for end users and operates the same as any CDH 6 or HDP cluster.

Query Server Security Enhancements

This release has enhanced the security profile for Query Server. This enables the full suite of Oracle security capabilities to be applied to data including: create new roles, GRANTs on objects, row level security, redaction and so on.

The default has also changed to behave similar to a typical Oracle Database instance. A user with appropriate privileges must grant access to tables in order for those tables to be queried.

Deprecated Support for Storing Oracle Tablespaces in HDFS

The ability to store Oracle tablespaces in HDFS and query the data as if the data were stored in an Oracle internal table is not supported with this release.
