Deploying UDOs Using Change Assistant with the Application Interface Services (AIS) Server Connection (Release 9.2.8.2)
Beginning with Tools Release 9.2.8.2, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Update Manager supports the deployment of User Defined Objects (UDOs) packages using Change Assistant with the Application Interface Services (AIS) Server connection.
This section discusses how to:
- Verify the Update Center and AIS connection preferences.
- Search for UDO package on the Oracle JD Edwards Update Center using Change Assistant.
- Download UDO packages as a batch.
- Deploy the UDO as a server batch.
- Download and analyze special instructions from Change Assistant.
Verifying Update Center and AIS Connections
To verify the JD Edwards Update Center and the AIS Server connections:
- Launch Change Assistant from your desktop.
- From the Edit menu, select Preferences. The Preferences form is displayed.
- In the Authentication tab, enter valid Update Center credentials.
- In the AIS tab, enter these valid EnterpriseOne AIS credentials.

- Click OK to save the preferences. The Status Bar at the bottom right of the screen verifies the connections.
Searching for UDO Packages on the Update Center Using Change Assistant
- Select Search for Packages from the Change Assistant tree node.
- In the Advanced Search screen, set these criteria:

All Platforms
. - Target Environment: Select

or a valid target environment to deploy the package.
- Type: Select
- Click Search. Note: The search results are environment aware. The packages that are already deployed to the specified environment are grayed out and not selected. The UDO packages that are already in the repository are also not selected.Note: You can show or hide the deployed packages using the
toggle buttons.
Downloading UDO Packages as a Batch
- Click
on the toolbar to deselect all packages.
- Select one or more UDO packages.
- To download the selected packages to the default location as a batch, click
Download To. Note: When AIS is active, the downloaded packages are imported to the package repository F96700R.
After download completes, the Status of the downloaded packages changes to In Repository.
Deploying UDO Packages as a Batch
- Select Work with Server Batches from the tree node.
- Select the batch containing the downloaded packages. The Packages tab on the Batch Details pane lists all the packages in the batch.
- Select Deploy
from the Toolbar. Alternatively, click the Batch Actions tab and then click New Deploy Action. The Software Update Environment Selection form is displayed.
- Select the Auto Share option to automatically share the UDOs after deployment.
- Click OK to start the deployment.
- Click Show Details to review the deployment steps.
- On completion of deployment, the Batch Activity Report is displayed in the
browser. The status of each of packages deployed is available in the
report.Note: Click the package links to review the individual package activity.
Downloading Special Instructions from the Change Assistant
- Open Change Assistant (with an Update Center connection) from the desktop link.
- Click Search for Packages in the navigation node.
- Enter the following search criteria in the Advanced Search form and
click Search.

- Select the UDO package from the search results.
- Use the Tool drop-down to select Special Instructions.
- In the Special Instructions options, select Special Instructions.
- Click Analyze Packages to view the report. The system downloads the data
into the EnterpriseOne Software Archive Repository table (F96700R)
table.Note: Hover over the processing icon at the top of the browser window to view the background processes.
- The Summary Analysis report includes the special instructions for the list of selected packages.
- To review the special instructions for the selected UDO package, sign in to the Web Client and run Work with Software Update Special Instructions (P96700RW) from the fast path. Alternatively, you can navigate to Software Updates menu (GH9612) and run Work with Software Update Special Instructions (P96700RW).
- In the Query by Example (QBE) field, enter the ESU Name and click Find to filter and review the special instructions.
