Importing a User Defined Object from a Zip File

To import a UDO from a zip file, access web OMW.

  1. In web OMW, select the UDO or project that you want to import.

  2. If the UDO or project is available to import, you will see an icon in the Import column of the grid for that row. Click the Import icon.

  3. On the File Upload form, click browse.

  4. On the File Upload form, find and then select the zip file that you want to import, and then click Open.

  5. Click Load to import the zip file.

Note: If you have saved at the object level, you will restore at the object level. If you have saved at the project level, you will restore at the project level. To restore individual objects from the project, you can use WinZip to open the file and extract the individual objects.
  6. OMW restores the object or project. For objects that are new, all appropriate information is created. All actions are logged by the system.

Note: You can use OMW Allowed Actions to limit access to the import/export functionality if necessary.
  7. At this point the imported objects are at a status of 07, Pending Promote. You must use the Approve/Share option from P98220U or P98220W in order to make the reports available to users.

The Approve/Share action extracts the data and artifacts from the zip repository and loads the runtime tables and target locations.
