Create and Transact Production Batches without Formulas and Recipes Using the Quick Batch Function
You can now create and complete a production batch without creating formulas and recipes using the Quick Batch feature. Enter the ingredients and resources used, as well as the products and by-products produced, using one of these methods:
- Direct entry - Manually specify batch details.
- Copy batch - Duplicate an existing batch.
- Copy formula - Use an existing formula as a starting point and modify quantities as needed.
For example, contract manufacturers can quickly process batches using Quick Batch when they repackage, distribute, and sell products for a pharmaceutical company. They do not need to store formula, routing, and recipe information for those products.
Prior to Release 12.2.15, you were required to set up formulas and recipes to create and complete batches.
Quick Batch Transactions
Navigation
Production Supervisor > Quick Batch Transactions
Users can create Quick Batch Transactions by batch, by formula, or manually. "Manual" is set as default option.
Quick Batch Creation Using Batch as Source
Quick Batch Transactions can be created using an existing batch as the source by providing a reference batch number. You can refer only those batches which are created earlier using Quick Batch Transactions Interface. A new batch will then be created based on the details of the original batch.
Quick Batch Creation Using Formula as Source
You can initiate a Quick Batch Transaction using a formula as the reference source by entering the corresponding formula number. The new batch will be created using the specifications and data from the selected formula.
Quick Batch Creation - Manually
You can manually create a Quick Batch Transaction by directly entering the necessary batch information. This method enables you to define a new batch without relying on an existing batch or formula as a reference.
Once the batch is created, it will be in a completed status and the transactions are recorded automatically. Batches created in this way are treated the same as those created through pre-existing methods and are fully available for review, including costing.
Steps to Enable
