Provisioning Resources Using Fleet Application Management
Provision OCI resources using Fleet Application Management through Oracle Enterprise Landing Zones (ELZs) or private catalog items to create a robust and controlled environment. This method facilitates a controlled environment that ensures all deployments comply with organizational policies, security standards, and best practices. Also, it provides a user-friendly self-service experience.
-
Resource creation: This step involves creating the appropriate cloud resources such as virtual machines (known as Compute instances), storage volumes, virtual networks, databases, or any other OCI service.
-
Resource allocation: After the resources are defined, provisioning includes allocating the necessary infrastructure within the OCI environment. This might include reserving computational resources, storage space, IP addresses, or other network resources.
-
Configuration: After creation and allocation, resources need to be configured to meet specific requirements. This can include setting up network connectivity, installing software, applying security policies, and customizing the resources to align with needs.
To provision resources, you can use the marketplace catalog items to select from predefined landing zones developed by Oracle or its partners (OCI Core Landing Zone) or create your catalog items within Fleet Application Management.
Prerequisites for Provisioning Resources
Before you begin provisioning resources in Fleet Application Management, ensure that you meet the following prerequisites:
- For private catalog items, access to Terraform source providers is established. See Managing Configuration Source Providers.
- For Marketplace and private catalog items, all policies related to resource types, schedules, and provisioning are provided in the user policies. See Policy Examples.
