Using Zones on Shared Storage for Zone Migration

A zone that is configured with a rootzpool and optionally one or more zpool resources is considered to use Zones on Shared Storage (ZOSS). A key benefit of ZOSS is that zone migration may be accomplished using a very simple sequence of commands with an outage that takes approximately the same amount of time as is required for a zone reboot.
