For information about common_options, run the help command.
--config|-cSpecify the name of the configuration to set the log properties.
Specify name=value pairs for one or more properties that you want to define. The name=value pairs should be separated by spaces.
You can set the following log properties:
log-stdout: Specifies whether the server logs data that applications write to stdout.
Values: true, false. Default: true.
log-stderr: Specifies whether the server logs data that applications write to stderr.
Values: true, false. Default: true.
log-virtual-server-name: Specifies whether the server includes the virtual server name in log messages.
Values: true, false. Default: true.
log-to-console: Specifies whether the server writes log messages to the console.
Values: true, false. Default: true.
log-to-syslog: Specifies whether the server writes log messages to syslog.
Values: true, false. Default: false.
date-format: Specifies the date format for the log message time stamps.
Values: Default value: %d/%b/%Y:%H:%M:%S
archive-suffix: Specifies the suffix appended to the log file names.
Values: Default value: %Y%m%d%H%M
archive-command: This is executed after the server rotates a log file.
Values: A program command line, for example: gzip
log-level: Specifies the log verbosity for the server as a whole.
Values: INCIDENT_ERROR:1, ERROR:1, ERROR:16, ERROR:32, WARNING:1, TRACE:1, TRACE:16, TRACE:32. Default: NOTIFICATION:1.
log-file: Specifies the name and location of the log file.
Values: User defined name and location. Default: ../logs/server.log
To reset a property to its default value, do not provide a property value.
For example, property-name=<empty_string>
tadm set-log-prop --user=admin --password-file=./admin.passwd --host=admin.example.com --port=8989 --no-prompt --config=www.example.org log-level=error:1
The following exit values are returned:
0: command executed successfully
>0: error in executing the command
