Kubernetes Engine support for 5000 worker nodes per Kubernetes cluster
- Services: Kubernetes Engine
- Release Date: February 28, 2025
You can now use OCI Kubernetes Engine to create enhanced clusters with up to 5,000 managed (or self-managed) nodes per cluster.
The increased number of worker nodes is available in commercial realms, and with enhanced clusters that use the flannel CNI plugin for pod networking. In other realms, or with enhanced clusters that use the VCN-Native Pod Networking CNI plugin, the default limit is 2,000 managed (or self-managed) nodes per cluster. To request more worker nodes in these cases, contact us.
With more worker nodes in a single cluster, you can deploy larger workloads on that cluster to achieve better resource utilization and lower operational overhead. And you have fewer, larger environments to secure, monitor, upgrade, and manage.
