Kubernetes Engine support for clusters containing both managed node pools and virtual node pools

You can now use Kubernetes Engine to create clusters containing both managed node pools and virtual node pools. You can also add both managed node pools and virtual node pools to the same existing cluster.

Previously, clusters could contain either managed node pools, or virtual node pools, but not both.

Now, the same cluster can contain managed nodes, virtual nodes, and self-managed nodes.

For more information, see Comparing Virtual Nodes with Managed Nodes.
