APM Domain Configuration Export and Import

You can export and import configurations when working with APM Domains.

Export and import features provide enhanced flexibility and efficient configuration management within the APM Domain.
Note

Export and import only apply to APM domain configurations. No data is affected.

They simplify the process of managing configurations by enabling users to easily export domain configuration, copy configurations between domains, and import configurations from JSON files. (The export option includes export and copy operations).

Examples

Export and import operations can be useful if you need to perform the following:
  • Migrate configurations between environments.

    You can export the resources from one environment and import them into another one. In this case, you avoid recreating APM configurations manually in each environment.

  • Back up domain settings or share setups across teams.
  • Restore APM configuration after an unexpected change.

    You can import a previously saved export file to restore configurations quickly. In this case, you don't need to rebuild everything from scratch.

  • Replicate monitoring configurations across regions.

    You can export the setup from one OCI region and import into another one. In this case, you avoid configuring each region manually.
