Requesting a Limit Increase

Learn how to request a service limit increase for multicloud resources.

  • For general details about requesting limit increases, see Creating a Limit Increase Request.

    1. Open the Oracle Cloud Console (also referred to as OCI Console), and then select the region you want for the limit increase.

      For steps to select the region, see Switching Regions.

    2. Open the navigation menu  and select Governance & Administration. Under Tenancy Management, select Limits, Quotas and Usage.
    3. On the Limits, quotas and usage page, select Request a service limit increase.
    The Request limit increase window opens.

    1. General information

    Enter the following values:

    • Request name: User-friendly name for the limit request.
    • Reason for request: The reason for the request. If the request is urgent or unusual, then provide details here. Avoid entering confidential information.
    • Tags: If you have permissions to create a resource, then you also have permissions to apply free-form tags to that resource. To apply a defined tag, you must have permissions to use the tag namespace. For more information about tagging, see Resource Tags. If you're not sure whether to apply tags, skip this option or ask an administrator. You can apply tags later.

    Select Next.

    2. Requested items

    1. Select Add.
    2. In the Add requested item panel, select or enter the following values.
      • Subscription (Multicloud): Select your Oracle AI Database@AWS subscription. This subscription ends in ORACLEDBATAWS.
      • Service (under Select service): The service that contains the limit you want to increase.

        Service limits that can be increased:

        Database Oracle Autonomous AI Database OCI Region Identifier
        Oracle Autonomous AI Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure OCI AD Identifier

        AWS Resource Anchor OCI AD Identifier
      • Select limit: Enter prompted values and then enter the limit name and value. Prompts depend on the selected service.
        Note

        For the Database - Exadata service, you're prompted to select New infrastructure or Existing infrastructure.

        • For New infrastructure, select the availability domain (AD), infrastructure model, and values for each limit name (Database server limit name and Storage server limit name).
        • For Existing infrastructure, select the infrastructure and values for each limit name (Database server limit name and Storage server limit name). To view infrastructure in a different compartment, use the Compartment filter to switch compartments.
    3. Select Save.
      The requested item appears in the list table within the Request limit increase window.
    4. Optionally edit or delete items. You can also add a limit increase to this request by selecting Add again.
    5. Select Next.

    3. Review and create

    Review the limit request, tags, and items and optionally edit before submitting.

    Select Submit.
