Lifecycle Operation in Fleet Application Management
Define and manage all lifecycle operations in Fleet Application Management to centralize the operations across heterogeneous resources.
Apart from the custom lifecycle operations that you define, Fleet Application Management defines lifecycle operations such as Patch, Discovery, Provision. These are marked as Oracle defined. You can't delete or modify these lifecycle operations. However, they're available for selection when you're creating a runbook.
- Patch: Patching resources is the process of applying updates, fixes, or security patches to maintain the stability, security, and functionality of the software components on the products.
- Discovery: Discovering of product homes on target resources involves identifying and establishing the environment where the software product should reside and run. This process ensures that the patch is deployed to the correct locations and integrates seamlessly with the target resources.
- Provision: Provisioning resources involves allocating and preparing the necessary computing resources to support the foundation required for establishing an application footprint.
