3 BIOS Issues
This section describes important operating notes and known BIOS issues for Oracle Server X9-2.
Different USB Port Options are Displayed in the BIOS Setup Utility

Issue: Depending on the Oracle ILOM firmware version installed on the system, different USB port options are displayed in the BIOS Setup utility.

Workaround: Install the latest Oracle ILOM firmware version. The correct USB port option of "Rear Port" will now be displayed instead of "Internal Port".
BIOS Restore Error: Partially Successful. Invalid Boot Device Entry.

Issue: After performing a BIOS restore from Oracle ILOM, you might see the following error:
Partially successful. Invalid boot device entry
Affected Software: Linux
Affected Hardware: Oracle Server X9-2/X9-2L or Exadata Rack X9M
Workaround: If you encounter this error, perform the following steps:
- Reboot the server and launch the BIOS Setup utility.
- Go into the Boot menu and manually change the Boot Option Priority list to select Red Hat Boot Manager as the first boot entry.
- Save and Exit the BIOS Setup utility and allow the server to reboot.
