Using the Thumb Drive to Update Firmware on a System

You should have already prepared your thumb drive with a bootable Linux image and installed Oracle Hardware Management Pack on it.

  1. Download the firmware patch you want to install from My Oracle Support (MOS) portal:

    https://support.oracle.com/

  2. Unzip the package to your thumb drive.

  3. You should now be able to put the thumb drive in another system, boot Linux and perform a firmware update using the Oracle Hardware Management Pack fwupdate command. For information on using the fwupdate command, see Oracle Hardware Management Pack 2.4 Server CLI Tools User's Guide.
