vdm:getcommerceid

Retrieves a copy of the visitor's commerce identifier, that is, the visitor's Transact ID.

Note Using the <vdm:getcommerce id/> tag is the equivalent of setting <vdm:getaccessid id= "tx"/>.

Syntax

<vdm:getcommerceid 
      varname="varname"/> 

Parameters

varname (required)

Input and output parameter. As input, name of a variable to which the commerce identifier is assigned on output.

Description

The visitor data manager passes retrieved identifier to Commerce Connector in order to obtain Transact-based visitor data. Therefore, having a commerce identifier is equivalent to being logged into Transact. If the visitor does not have a commerce identifier, there is no Transact-based visitor data available for this person.
