What’s New for Oracle WebCenter Portal

Here’s an overview of the new features, enhancements, and changes in Oracle WebCenter Portal.

Release 14c (14.1.2.0.0)

Feature Description
Unified Search Any document uploaded via Content Manager task flow in a Portal can now be searched without the need for Documents Crawl. Documents crawl has been removed. See Configuring WebCenter Content for Search in Administering Oracle WebCenter Portal.
WebCenter Portal on Kubernetes You can create and manage Oracle WebCenter Portal instances on Kubernetes. See Deploying and Managing Oracle WebCenter Portal on Kubernetes.
Elasticsearch version WebCenter Portal supports all minor versions of the Elasticsearch 7.x product version starting with 7.17 and newer. See Configuring Elasticsearch in WebCenter Portal in Administering Oracle WebCenter Portal.
Search Results UI The Search Results user interface has been updated. When the search results are displayed, now the check boxes are displayed for each facet value for easy selection. See Running a Global Search with Elasticsearch in Using Portals in Oracle WebCenter Portal.
Filter search results using multiple values within a facet

Users of WebCenter Portal search will be able to filter the search results using multiple values within a facet, which means that once a value is selected within a facet, users can further filter the search based on other values in the same facet. Create and Manage Saved Search UI Updated Create and Manage Saved Search UI to display search term and any facets selected for the search. See Saving Search Results in Using Portals in Oracle WebCenter Portal.
Polls and Surveys With this release, the feature “Polls and Surveys” is available out-of-the-box when WebCenter Portal is installed. There is no longer a need to run the SQL scripts to enable this feature.
Content Server selection in Content Manager Taskflow If there are two or more Content Server connections, an option has been added in the Content Manager taskflow to select the connection to use. See Enabling Document Management in Building Portals with Oracle WebCenter Portal.
