Target an XML entity cache to a server

Before you begin

You must create an XML entity cache before you can target it. See Create an XML entity cache.


A WebLogic Server can have only one XML entity cache associated with it.

To target a particular XML entity cache to a WebLogic Server instance:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane, expand Environment and select Servers.
  3. In the Servers table, click on the name of the WebLogic Server to which you want to target an XML entity cache.
  4. Select the Configuration > Services tab.
  5. In the section called XML Services Configuration, towards the end of the page, select the XML entity cache you want to associate with this server by selecting its name in the XML Entity Cache drop-down list.
  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
    Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
