Create a Dataset from OCI Object Storage

You can create a dataset from data files stored in OCI Object Storage. For example, you might use spreadsheet files (XLSX), comma-separated values (CSV) files or text files (TXT). You can add data from multiple files and use the dataset designer to associate them using joins.

When you've created your dataset, you can configure it to load incrementally. See Configure a Dataset to Load Incrementally.
Prerequisites:
  1. On the Home page, click Create and then click Dataset.
  2. In the Create Dataset dialog, click the connection to your OCI tenancy.
  3. Use the drop-down lists to select the region where your OCI tenancy is located, then select the folder and bucket where your data files are stored.

  4. Select a data file from the bucket, then click Add.

  5. At the Create Dataset table from <file name> dialog, click OK.
If required, change the default Description or Separated by option first.
The dataset editor shows all of the fields from the data file.
  6. Optional: Use the dataset editor to configure your data.
  7. Optional: If you want to add data from additional files to the dataset, in the Join Diagram, click the connection name in the Data Panel, then hover over Object Store and click Search and add file from Object Store to locate and select additional data files.

  8. Click Save and specify a name for the dataset.
