Download, Install, and Start the Client Tools for Oracle Analytics Server

Use Client Tools for Oracle Analytics Server to manage and develop your data models and catalog.

Oracle updates Oracle Analytics Server Client Tools with each annual Oracle Analytics Server release. The Client Tools version you install must match your Oracle Analytics Server version. Using mismatched versions of Oracle Analytics Server and Client Tools leads to incompatibility issues.

You install Client Tools on a Windows machine in your Oracle Analytics Server environment. The Client Tools software pack installs Model Administration Tool and the Catalog Manager Command Line Interface.

  1. Download the latest Oracle Analytics Server Client Tools.
    1. Navigate to the download page Download page for Oracle Analytics Server.
    2. Go to the Optional section and click Oracle Analytics Client Installer.
    3. In the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud page, click All. Then in the Software column leave Oracle Analytics Client Installer selected and deselect all other options.
    4. In the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud page, click the license agreement checkbox.
    5. Click Download.
  2. Install Client Tools.
    1. Navigate to the downloaded installer (.exe) file on your computer.
    2. Run the installer file as Administrator.
  3. Start the Client Tools.
    • For Windows, go to the Windows Start menu, click Oracle Analytics Client Tools, and select the name of the tool you want to use. For example, to edit your semantic model, click Model Administration Tool.
    • For Linux, navigate to the BI_DOMAIN\bitools\bin folder and run the runcat.sh and datamodel.sh command line utilities.
