Change a secondary configuration in a multisource signal configuration

You can change or remove the secondary configuration in a multisource signal configuration. This action results in a reconfiguration of the structure of the underlying tables and requires steps to ensure you achieve the desired results.

Note:

You must have Manage Signal Configurations user permission to perform the following actions.

(Recommended) Unpublish the signal configuration.
In the left navigation pane, click the Settings icon ().
In the Configure System section, click Manage Signal Configurations.
Click the Row Action menu () for the multisource signal configuration, and then click Edit.
In the row for the secondary configuration you wish to change or remove, click Remove.
Click OK to confirm your choice.
If you are replacing the secondary configuration, select the signal configuration you wish to use from the Secondary Configuration drop-down menu.
In the Label field, enter a label for the secondary configuration.

Note:
A unique label is required for each secondary configuration. The label you enter appears as a prefix in table columns and menu options to identify data specific to the secondary configuration.
If you are adding an additional secondary configuration, repeat steps 5 through 7, using the additional row provided.

Note:
The secondary configurations must be unique.
Determine whether you need to suppress alert calculations in the next refresh.
- If you do not need to suppress alert calculations:
  1. Deselect Suppress alert calculations in the next refresh.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Optionally, modify alert types and views.
  4. Refresh the multisource signal configuration using the standard refresh procedure, which calculates the alerts.
- If you do need to suppress alert calculations (recommended):
  1. Ensure the Suppress alert calculations in the next refresh checkbox is selected.
  2. Submit a refresh for the configuration.
    
    Note:
    The Refresh Signal Management page will contain Warning: Alerts will not be calculated.
  3. Modify alert types and views. Remove references to secondary configurations that were removed.
  4. Optionally, set up the alert types and views to reference the new secondary configurations.
  5. Refresh the multisource signal configuration using the standard refresh procedure, which calculates the alerts.
  Note:
  If you remove or replace a secondary configuration, alerts types and views may still point to the previous configuration that is no longer connected to the multisource signal configuration. If this is the case, the refresh will fail unless you suppress alert calculations.
  Suppressing alert calculations enables you to refresh without calculating any alerts. This initial refresh modifies the structure between the connected configurations. You can then set up the alert types and views to point to the new secondary configurations.
  
  Once you have configured your alerts and views you can refresh the multisource signal configuration again to calculate alerts. Once you remove or replace a secondary configuration, the Suppress alert calculations in next refresh option is selected by default. You can override this setting if you are sure it will not cause problems with the configuration.
Republish the multisource signal configuration.
