Introduction

The Oracle Empirica software is a web-based analysis environment for generating statistical scores for combinations of products and events in a product safety database, and for detecting unexpected associations of products and events—known as signals.

If your organization is licensed for Signal Management, you can use it to perform statistical analyses on successive releases of the safety databases you subscribe to.

The FDA AERS Signal Management, VAERS Signal Management, and Argus Mart Signal Management databases have been available in a scripted form for on-premise use for many years. They required installation and updating by Oracle. Beginning with Oracle Empirica 9.2.1, interactive versions of several of the databases became available allowing you to install and update the data yourself and enable configurable alerts. Oracle Empirica version 9.1 added interactive signal management for a cloud version of Vigibase Signal Management. Version 9.2.3 adds a cloud version of PMDA JADER Interactive Signal Management. AERS, VAERS, and Argus remain available from the cloud or installed on-premise.
