3 Visits and schedules

You can create scheduled visits, unscheduled visits, events, as well as set up dynamic visits and insert a new visit in the schedule of a live study version.

  • Understand visit types
    You can create two types of visits in a study. The scheduled visits are those that are part of the subject schedule, while unscheduled visits can happen at any moment. Both scheduled and unscheduled visits can be of different sub-types depending on the subject events they are intended to cover.
  • Understand the requirements for a screening visit
    In general, screening visits are optional. However, if your study is configured to assign subject numbers during screening, it is mandatory to include a Screening visit as the first visit in the visit schedule. This way you ensure accurate subject screening and proper study progression.
  • Create a scheduled visit
    Create one visit for each subject visit or event that occurs in the study. Create scheduled visits to design the visit schedule.
  • Create an unscheduled visit or event
    Create one visit for each subject visit or event that occurs in the study. Create unscheduled visits or events to cover different subject events that can happen at any moment, irrespective of the visit schedule. For example: Adverse events, withdrawal, or study completion.
  • Define the visit schedule
    When you define the visit schedule, you specify the amount of time that must occur between a given visit and the previous visit. As you schedule visits, the visits are reordered in the Scheduled Visits pane, so that they appear in the planned order.
