Unverify a subject's data

For studies where data was verified, you can unverify data that has been verified in error at the visit, form, and question level.

You can unverify questions that have previously been verified, no matter the visit's status in the system, whether it's complete, in progress, or incomplete.

To learn more about how SDV statuses can change for a form, visit, or question, see About Source Data Verification statuses.

You should also be aware that forms can contain already verified hidden questions with data classifications. Only the users with the appropriate permissions to see the classified data can unverify such questions.

For more information about SDV settings and use cases, see Understand source data verification.

  1. From the Home page, Access your study in a specific mode.
  2. Along the top, make sure Subjects is selected, and that you're on the Subject Overview view.
  3. Depending on your needs, you can filter your view based on several criteria. For more information, see Filter subjects in a study. In this case, if you have access to multiple sites, you can select the appropriate sites for your task using the Site filter.
  4. Locate a subject on the subjects list and select the visit whose data you want to unverify.
  5. Review data entered for the visit by scrolling down the forms. See Review the data collected for a subject.
  6. Along the top of the page, select Verify Visit Data, then Unverify.
  7. There are several ways for you to unverify data:
    • If you want to unverify a certain question, select the checkbox next to that question.
    • If you want to unverify an entire form, select the checkbox next to that form, on the left.
    • If you want to unverify all forms and questions from a visit, select the checkbox next to the Forms title, on the left.

      Note:

When you check the form-level or visit-level verification box:
      • Only questions that are both visible to the user and already verified are unverified as a result of this action. Hidden questions and questions that have not been verified are not unverified.
      • Read-only questions are never verified. As such, they cannot be unverified.
  8. Select either Unverify or Unverify & Close. Then select a reason for your unverify action and select Unverify.
