Specify study, enrollment, and visits settings
Typically, a study manager specifies these settings. With a few exceptions, they can configure settings for all modes simultaneously, while others must be set individually for each study mode. Also note that not all settings can be edited at any time. We recommend you set and verify these settings in Testing mode first. The settings apply to all versions of the study, and this procedure also applies to rollover studies.
Want to see how to perform this task? Watch the video below.
- Open the study settings.
- Below the study name, select the Study Settings tab.
- Along the page, select a specific study mode:
- Production Settings
- Testing Settings
- Training Settings
- Now configure study, enrollment, or visits settings as needed.
- Specify study settings
Configure study-level settings to control study behavior across modes. Some options are mode-specific (Testing, Training, and Production), while others apply to all modes. Note that not all settings can be edited at any time. - Specify visits settings
Specify visit settings to control visit dates, notifications, and other visit-related parameters. - Specify enrollment settings
Set enrollment settings to manage limits and notifications for screening and randomization in your study. We recommend configuring and verifying them in Testing mode first. - Specify enrollment settings for minimization cohorts
When specifying the enrollment settings, if your study includes a minimization design , the system displays the cohorts in sections by each minimization design. Typically, a study manager specifies these settings. This procedure also applies to rollover studies. - Create or edit custom enrollment limits
Study managers can create custom enrollment limits to restrict subject enrollment based on specific criteria. Custom enrollment limits can be defined in all three modes: Testing, Training, and Production. - Study impact when replacing a subject number with the randomization number
See how your study is impacted when you replace a subject number with a randomization number. - Understand impact of subject number assignments on study data
Learn how the timing of subject number assignment - whether during subject addition or after submitting screening forms - affects study data, data propagation in downstream applications, and overall system behavior. - Workflow for configuring a study to assign subject numbers after screening
This workflow outlines the steps for configuring a study to assign subject numbers during the screening process.
