Working with compounding kits
Whenever compounding kits are not prepared at the destination site, the address of compounding sites must be added as shipping addresses and marked accordingly in Oracle Clinical One Platform. To work with compounding sites, clinical supply managers and site administrators must work together to configure shipment settings and shipping addresses for specific kits.
-
When configuring the supply settings of a study, clinical supply managers configure the Select Shipping Address setting for the shipment settings to either use the default main address for shipments (main site address or first shipment address entered) or to specifically select and configure the shipping address for each kit type at each site.
By default, this setting is set to No, which means shipments use the main site address or the first shipping address if defined. If set to Yes, a user with the appropriate permission, typically a site administrator, must select the shipping address for each kit when configuring the site in the Sites & Labs tab. Otherwise, if Select Shipping Address is set to Yes and there is no shipping address selected for a kit at the site, any new shipments of that kit will fail. For more information, see Supply settings fields.
- When configuring a site, site administrators can designate a site address as a compounding site. To do this, a site administrator selects the Compounding Site checkbox as they configure a site's Adresses details on the Sites & Labs tab. To learn more about configuring a site, including a compounding site, see Add a site to a study.
- Site administrators, working closely with the clinical supply manager, can then assign the specific shipment address for each kit in the site configuration. This allows to select compounding sites' addresses for compounding kits.
Then, when a shipment is created for a compounding kit it will get delivered to compounding sites through compounding shipments. This can also be done automatically via the SAP Shipment Request Integration. For more information, see SAP Shipment Request Integration.
